He spent hours emulating and playing along with friends and recordings. In 2003 when during a major life changing summer John decided to pack his life into his jeep and trek cross-country and relocated to SF. John now plays acoustic shows around The SF Bay Area with a rotating cast of accompanists that consist of fiddle, hand percussion, mandolin, and bass. Hailing from Manchester England, Paul regularly performs around the SF Bay Area and beyond in various configurations; solo duo, trio and full band.

In 2016, Paul and singer/songwriter Meredith Edgar, "a voice like a chain-smoking angel'" renewed a musical partnership following  Meredith's  return from a 5 year sojourn in Austin, Texas. With upright bass player extraordinaire, Sean Silverman, they have been developing a distinctive blend of original folk/country/jazz infused Americana (along with a few classic torch songs) ever since. SUMMER ACOUSTIC SERIES - The Treacherous French

The Treacherous French are an eclectic indie rock band hailing from the San Francisco Bay Area. The songs they write are catchy yet complex, while staying true to their indie, blues, country, and alt-rock roots. The lineup consists of a group of four multi-instrumentalists from differing backgrounds ranging from folk rock to punk rock to dance rock to Celtic jazz folk fusion. The standard lineup of rock band instruments is well represented: bass, guitar, drums, vocals, keys - but if you listen closely, you may hear some twists as well: accordion, mandolin, harmonica, glockenspiel, washboard, kalimba - and this blend of styles and instrumentation is what makes The Treacherous French what it is.

Rawlins (bass), Arne Hurty (guitar) and Dave Cooper
(mandolin) with roots in the SF Bay Area. Nearly every song
rings with vocal harmonies, often in threes. Their songs span a
century and a half of American songs. They are as likely to play
Devil Makes Three or the Buzzcocks, the Rolling Stones or
Merle Travis as they are to play a 1920’s jazz standard or a
fiddle tune. However, they might just dazzle with a collection of
originals. It all depends on set and setting. Come see the
eclectic stirrings of the Basement Brothers.

Fallen Comrade Tribute Beer Release

Each year for Memorial Day, we brew Fallen Comrade Red Ale as a tribute to the men and women who sacrificed all in defense of our Nation. As a veteran-owned brewery, the beer has special significance to us and incorporates military traditions into the beer itself. The red color symbolizes the blood shed on the battlefield in fighting for our freedoms, lemon was used in the boil to signify the bitter fate of the fallen, and salt was added to represent the tears shed by loved ones left behind.

Come join us Friday the 25th thru Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend to hoist a glass of "Fallen Comrade Red Ale" and help us honor the true meaning of the holiday observance. A portion of proceeds from the sale of this special beer will be donated to The Memory Box Project, a non-profit in Paso Robles dedicated to hand-crafting keepsake heirloom boxes so the loved ones of the fallen can remember their heroes.

All gave some, some gave all.

TRIVIA and TACOS - Dante Ricci presents Interactive Musical Trivia

Join us this Tuesday at FDR for a live music trivia event!  In this new twist on pub trivia, your host (local musician Dante Ricci) will guide you through three rounds of music-based questions that will put your knowledge of bands/artists, TV theme songs, movie soundtracks, and pop culture to the test.  Dante will provide the music - your job is to answer questions, win prizes, and drink fantastic beer!  Stick around after the quiz when Dante will keep the fun going by playing your requests.

Dante was the lead guitarist for the NJ-based band Noah's Arcade and has performed with regional groups The Rearrangement, Some Assembly Required, the Jon Lall Band, Geneva & the Conventions, and the one-night-only blues spectacular known as Fake ID. He was a musician in residence at Winberie’s in the heart of Princeton, NJ, and has been performing solo or with bands at bars, coffeeshops, restaurants, breweries, and weddings for the past 15 years.  He loves nothing more than to entertain song requests, and he may even let you sing one if you know the words and you're bigger than him (which you probably are).

LIVE MUSIC - The Basement Brothers

The Basement Brothers are an acoustic trio of Bob

LIVE MUSIC - CarnyMusic

CarnyMusic is the solo project of Mike Carnahan, lead singer of the SF western-psych band The Green Door. In a shift from the expansive, mythological themes of the West that embodies The Green Door, CarnyMusic explores the raw, personal, and even solitary human condition as well as its dynamic relationship to an ever-changing world. Most of the time presenting as stripped down and spare with just guitar and vocals, CarnyMusic also collaborates with other musicians. The outcome is a varied mixture of sonic possibilities that stretch across a range of emotions, experiences, and intensities.
