SF Beer Week wouldn’t be complete without the release of special, one-off beers made just for the occasion. Not to disappoint, we’ve brewed up three truly unique beers that are sure to please. Visit our Tap Room to get these exclusive beers before they are gone!
Triple Kitty Triple IPA – Our FIRST Triple IPA and it is a beauty. Weighing in at 10.7% ABV, this classic West Coast variant has a firm level of bitterness and loads of citrus, pine, and resin notes from massive amounts of Cascade, Columbus, Chinook, Centennial, and Amarillo hops. We added FOUR separate dry hop additions, and 54 pounds of hops total to this batch that only yielded us 3 barrels of beer --- you read that right, a ridiculous 18 pounds per barrel when it was all said and done! The firm backbone of malt also lends a slight warming sensation as you finish the glass. A killer beer you don’t want to miss – very limited quantities on hand!
Bayview Haze Pomegranate DIPA – Our “SFBW Neighborhood Collaboration” beer made with our friends in the area from Barebottle, Laughing Monk, and Seven Stills, with whom we share the Bayview Line of the SF Brewers Guild monthly “Meet the Brewers” shuttle series. For this collab, each brewery created our own unique take on the beer – the one common thread? Make a Hazy IPA using pomegranate. For our variant, we added pomegranate puree to our wildly popular “Cats In Fatsuits New England-Style DIPA” and the result is sublime! The tartness of pomegranate adds a layer of complexity to the citrus, tropical, and stone fruit notes from the Citra, Mosaic, and Amarillo hops and GigaYeast Vermont IPA yeast. Sure to be a crowd pleaser, we only have a couple of kegs so be sure to get here before we run out.
Spinderella Salt-n-Pepa Gose – Our “Iron Brewer Competition” winner – this year we challenged a group of homebrewers to make beers using a required, special ingredient pulled from the deconstruction of the Bloody Mary. Each brewer was assigned either Cayenne Pepper, Horseradish, Smoked Paprika, Black Peppercorns, or Celery Seed. This year’s winner, Matt Bixby, was assigned Black Peppercorns and smartly put that ingredient to work in the historical Gose style. The traditional Sea Salt and Coriander in this tart and sour beer is complemented perfectly by the addition of the Black Pepper, which adds a depth of spiciness as a bit of heat builds in the lingering, dry finish. A truly unique beer you’ll want to be sure to try while it lasts.
Beers will be put on tap when we open at 3pm, Saturday February 10th. Enjoy your SF Beer Week!
