Come celebrate Cinco de Mayo at FDR with classical guitarist Javier Caballero, El Diamante Rojo. Javier Caballero was born in a village called Zinapecuaro in the state of Michoacan, Mexico, and came from a very humble family. His ancestors were musicians. His father played guitar, his mother sang and all his brothers are musicians, too.
At 16 years old, Javier emigrated to the United States, where he grew up and developed his talent. He worked in the harvest fields of California in the Salinas Valley or as he called it " The Valley of Green Gold" for its variety of fruits and vegetables. Here he learned everything from harvesting fields to operating heavy machinery, and it is also where he began to play his music. At the beginning of his career Javier imitated other artists but now he has found his own style and composes original songs. Playing guitar is Javier's passion. He loves to play classical Mexican music, ranchero, guapango, boleros, ballads and contemporary songs.
For Javier, life has not been easy, but music has helped him face it better. Over the past 10 years, he has played private parties, restaurants, and anywhere he is given the opportunity. He has recorded three albums, which are available for purchase on his website. Please join us for an evening of beautiful Mexican music with this talented artist.
